MPEG-4 Will Be Streaming with Our Playerless Java Player

One of the things that have confused people the most with MPEG-4 is the fact that the default MPEG-4 standard is streamable but doesn't automatically stream. Our new java player will provide the streaming capability that MPEG-4 doesn't have built in.

Part of the reason for this is that we'll be offering Sorenson Squeeze 4 bundled with our player. This excellent product has progressive download capability built into its encoder. Progressive download isn't the same thing as streaming, but it's what most people associate as being streaming.

However, our java player will also be a streaming player, which means you'll get full streaming capability built in. The projected cost of the player with Sorenson Squeeze 4 bundled in is expected to be $399...far less than the cost of most other mpeg-4 players. We'll also be offering the java player as a standalone without Sorenson Squeeze for just $199, for webmasters who already have an MPEG-4 standard encoder.
